LightCastle Partners has recently signed a contract with ACDI/VOCA for the project titled, “USAID/ Bangladesh Feed The Future Rice And Diversified Crops Activity”. LightCastle will work with RDC’s Gender and M&E teams in designing the research study and in preparing the final report stating the research findings.
The overall goal of this proposed activity/research is to capture learning from RDC’s gender integration efforts. Specifically to capture the contribution of the project to gender equality and women’s empowerment in the rice and diversified crops sector in the Khulna, Barisal, and southern Dhaka divisions of Bangladesh.LightCastle Partners will measure women’s empowerment across three domains: increased access to market, increased participation in the decision-making process for agricultural production and income allocation in the household, and increased leadership skills and participation in leadership roles.
In addition, LightCastle will provide support as the knowledge partner to disseminate the findings from the research in virtual platforms/virtual events/print media, etc. in order to influence the behavioral change of agricultural market’s stakeholders towards gender inclusiveness and achieve greater women empowerment goals.
