LightCastle Successfully Host “Preincubation and Bootcamp in Search of Aquaculture Entrepreneurs” for Batch-2 of WorldFish Aquaculture Entrepreneurship Program

LightCastle Partners recently facilitated a pre-incubation & Bootcamp for WorldFish Bangladesh, titled “Pre-incubation and Bootcamp in search of Aquaculture Entrepreneurs”. The daylong event took place on January 28, 2021, at BRAC Learning Center, Rangpur.

The program hosted 59 aquaculture entrepreneurs coming from Bogura, Gaibandha, and Rangpur. Approximately one-third of the participants present were female aquaculture entrepreneurs.

Following an inspiring inauguration speech by Dr. Manos Kumar Saha, Aquaculture Specialist at WorldFish Bangladesh. The participants attended a session on SME Financing by Mr. Shawkat Hossain, Director, Financial Inclusion and Investments at LightCastle Partners, during the initial stages of the event.

After the initial speeches and training sessions, the entrepreneurs provided profiles of their businesses and took part in interview sessions in hopes of taking part in the Accelerator Program. Panelists for the interview sessions included senior personnel from LightCastle Partners and WorldFish Bangladesh.

30 Aquaculture entrepreneurs were shortlisted for the residential accelerator program based on the panelists’ judgment. These Entrepreneurs were selected based on their business details and entrepreneurship knowledge,  with an objective to facilitate financial inclusion and market linkage for their enterprises.
