Bijon Islam Judges Finalists at the She Loves Tech Bangladesh 2023 Competition

Bijon Islam, CEO of LightCastle Partners, recently attended the She Loves Tech Bangladesh 2023 competition as one of the judges. She Loves Tech is the world’s largest startup competition that aims to find the best women-led tech startups that have the potential to become the next big revolution. 

The local finale of this grand competition was held in Dhaka at the Doreen Hotel and Resorts on Thursday, September 13, 2023. LightCastle Partners has been involved in past editions of the competition and played a vital role as a sponsor and the key ecosystem partner this year as well. This event was executed in collaboration with Turtle Ventures for the fifth consecutive year. 

Through this competition, Turtle Ventures offers a remarkable platform for female entrepreneurs to showcase their innovative solutions, and enable them to access funding opportunities and resources to take their businesses to the next level. Since 2015, She Loves Tech has helped 13,000 start-ups across 70+ countries globally and raised over USD 350 million in startup funding.

The top six finalists of the She Loves Tech Bangladesh 2023 were Aggregate, Ainsheba, InsureCow, LegalX, Onnow.io, and Royal Bengal Shrooms. After a highly competitive pitching session consisting of some truly remarkable pitches, InsureCow secured the winning title, followed by LegalX and Onnow.io who emerged as the first and second runners-up, respectively.

InsureCow offers a technology-driven cattle insurance and health monitoring platform that helps connect farmers, SMEs, NGOs, insurers, and other financial institutions. As the winner of the Bangladeshi edition of the competition, InsureCow will get the opportunity to compete at the global level this year as well. 

Alongside Bijon Islam, the judges panel included:

2. Md Masudur Rahman – COO of Dekko ISHO Venture Capital
3. Sami Ahmed – Managing Director of Startup Bangladesh Limited

Moreover, Tasfia Tanbin, Founder and CEO of Markopolo, and Faheen Hannan, Founder and CEO of Dhaka Cast, who have won previous editions of the competition were also present as mentors during the mentoring sessions of the boot camp and as guests during the finale.
