Biniyog Briddhi Team Visits iFarmer Centers in Kurigram

iFarmer recently hosted a field visit for the Biniyog Briddhi (B-Briddhi) team at their iFarmer centers in Borobhita, Kurigram. Maxime Cheng (Lead, Impact Intelligence at Roots of Impact), Bijon Islam (Co-Founder & CEO at LightCastle Partners) and Archi Ananya, Impact & Partnership Manager at iFarmer, were present during the visit. The group attended the iFarmer Centers and conducted a  Focus Group Discussions (FGD) with the local farmers in Phulbari, Kurigram.

iFarmer is a tech-based company that enables small scale farmers and agribusinesses to maximize their profits by providing access to finance, technology and input supplies. The company uses its tech-enabled supply chain network to aggregate fresh produce from farming communities and provides better market access. 

Under Biniyog Briddhi’s Catalytic Financing program, iFarmer received Social Impact Incentives (SIINC) in 2021. SIINC is an impact-linked financing instrument that social enterprises can leverage to catalyze investments while incentivizing entrepreneurs to stay true to their social mission. Under this program,  iFarmer has been focusing on augmenting its reach to smallholder farmers across Bangladesh, to improve their livelihood by providing bundled services of finance and access to inputs, timely advisory and market linkages, through their digital platform.

Biniyog Briddhi (B-Briddhi) is a multi-year programme dedicated to supporting a thriving ecosystem where impact enterprises of Bangladesh can grow and scale their impact. Set up as a public private development partnership (PPDP) between the Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh, Roots of Impact and LightCastle Partners, the programme strives to improve the financial, social and environmental performance of impact enterprises by helping them to master investment readiness and impact management and get ready to access innovative finance to scale. The programme united many important stakeholders such as investors, private sector organizations, incubators, accelerators, support organizations and advocated for impact enterprises.
