LightCastle Conducts FGD’s to Evaluate BRAC’s ERMG Project

LightCastle Partners recently conducted a number of Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with readymade garments factory workers and urban low-income community members in Tongi, Gazipur, and Savar. This exercise forms part of an assignment to understand service effectiveness and develop a business model for the ERMG project under BRAC’s Urban Development Programme. BRAC’s ERMG project works towards improving the lives of workers employed in the Ready-Made Garments (RMG) sector of Bangladesh via a One-Stop Service Centres (OSSC)” solution- which provides RMG workers customized solutions across the fields of healthcare, legal aid, skills development, and financial services.

LightCastle’s work will help the ERMG project transition from its current philanthropic approach to a more self-sustained business model and one that is more responsive to the needs of its beneficiaries and users. In order to achieve this, the study is conducted from the perspective of sustainability, understanding the desirability of the services from the stakeholders’ point of view, and developing business strategies accordingly.
