LightCastle Signs Contract with Meta

LightCastle Partners has recently signed a contract with Meta (formerly known as Facebook) to implement two programs; SheMeansBusiness and We Think Digital. Through the partnership, LightCastle and Meta aim to create impact-driven growth in the Bangladesh economy.

The ‘SheMeansBusiness’ initiative from Meta will be implemented in Bangladesh by LightCastle Partners in collaboration with the Bangladesh Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BWCCI) and the ICT Division’s Aspire to Innovate (a2i) program. Through the program, LightCastle and its partners will give female entrepreneurs the knowledge, contacts, and technology needed to launch and expand their ventures. The global campaign ‘SheMeansBusiness’ is presently operating in 38 nations. More than a million women have received training worldwide from Meta and its network of partners. Additionally, to create further opportunities for enterprises, LightCastle, a2i, and BWCCI will also support policy advocacy among pertinent stakeholders for digital commerce.

The ‘We Think Digital’ initiative from Meta will be implemented in Bangladesh by LightCastle Partners in association with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the ICT Division’s Aspire to Innovate (a2i) program. The program intends to increase awareness, improve capacity, and foster digital ambassadorship using a whole-of-government approach, encompassing educators, government workers, and young professionals, to move beyond basic digital literacy into responsible digital citizenship. LightCastle, UNDP, and a2i will develop educational content and resources on the subject of countering false information, encouraging polite and empathic online behavior, and developing critical thinking skills among others.
