Lightcastle to Assess Value Chain and Opportunities for Shrimp Processing Industry in Bangladesh

LightCastle Partners has recently signed a contract with a leading US-based conglomerate—present across the food and agriculture sector– for assessing the prospects of shrimp processing and export in Bangladesh.

As part of the study, LightCastle will be mapping the actors across the shrimp value chain, starting from hatcheries and nurseries to farming and processing in order to assess the demand-supply dynamics, and margin analysis with a view to evaluating the attractiveness of entering the market for any new entrant. The study will entail conducting interviews and surveys with hatchery owners, farmers, associations, regulators, processors, and relevant development agencies.

As a company that has a global footprint in multiple industries, including food and agricultural products, they want to explore the prospects of entering the processed shrimp market of Bangladesh in order to expand their global foothold in this region.
