PoultryTech Bangladesh Facilitates Training for Bangladesh Master Farmers in the Netherlands

One of the core objectives of the PoultryTechBangladesh programme is to build the capacity of the poultry value chain actors of Bangladesh through knowledge transfer through a T-o-T model. Over the past two years, Aeres Training Centre International, a member of the programme consortium, has conducted two extensive training sessions with Master Farmers from market leaders such as Nourish Poultry & Hatchery Limited, Kazi Farms Limited, and Aftab Bahumukhi Farms Limited in Bangladesh.

As a follow-up to these capacity-building sessions and for a more practical understanding, this quarter, Aeres Training Centre is hosting a two-week long training programme on their campus at Barneveld, Netherlands. Participants from Bangladesh include the Poultry Industry Central Council, Provita Feeds Ltd, Paragon Poultry, and UK Bangla who took part in the training.

The training curriculum would broadly focus on brooding, bio-security management, efficient farming practices, recording and analysis of data, poultry health, feed formulation, and management. Apart from theoretical training, the sessions are designed to improve the didactic skills of the master farmers to ease their knowledge transfer to the root-level farmers in Bangladesh. Furthermore, to receive hands-on experience in international poultry farming practices, the participants were taken to Germany for farm visits and capacity building.

The training is currently being held at the Aeres Training Centre campus which gives the participants access to other individuals from Africa, Asia, and Europe to share their insights and improve their cross-cultural communication skills and knowledge exchange.

PoultryTechBangladesh is a public-private partnership of leading Dutch and Bangladeshi companies active in various parts of the poultry value chain.

The partnership aims to strengthen business relations between stakeholders in the Dutch and Bangladeshi poultry value chain, resulting in increased trade, investment, and cooperation and contributing to a more competitive and sustainable poultry sector in Bangladesh.

The programme is co-funded by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency.

Larive International and LightCastle Partners are the coordinating partners of the consortium.
